Bandage Care
A soft padded dressing may have been applied to one or more of your pet’s legs. It should be kept clean and dry. When your pet is taken outside, the dressing should be covered with a plastic bag. Remember to check the dressing twice daily for soiling, bad odor, slippage, and comfort level for the pet.
If the padded dressing slips over the toes so that it is obstructing movement, or causes swelling above or below the dressing, it should be removed. This is accomplished by cutting the elastic wrap down the length of the dressing and then unraveling the cotton underneath. We may need to apply a new dressing.
